Indonesian Blogger Party 2007

I hardly opened my email during these days as I’ve been engaged in some offline activities. That’s why I was a bit late to read my good friend Ong Hock Chuan’s email which was also a surprised for more than one reason. Ong’s email was actually not only for me. It’s also for some other prominent Indonesian bloggers including Wimar Witoelar, Priyadi, Enda Nasution, Budi Putra, Yosef Ardi, Wicaksono, Hanny Kusumawati.

The email dated August 5, 2007 but I opened it on the morning 7 August when I was preparing to have a trip to some places along with my nephew. So, I dont have time to respond it back right away. It’s during the trip that Ong called me and asking the response. I felt bad that I coudn’t respond his queries by email, so my apology to him.

Here’s Ong’s email, which I think worth sharing with other Blogger Indonesia:

Hello Bloggers,

Some of us have an idea to organize a Pest Bloggers some time in September. The idea is to get about 200 bloggers together for them to talk, exchange notes and just to meet teach other. So far I’ve met with Budi Putra, Enda nasution and Wicaksono and they all think it is a good idea.

There have been suggestions that maybe we need to do breakout sessions as well as other great ideas but we thought it would be a good idea to get the suggestions of promiment bloggers like yourselves. So Maverick is organizing a brainstorming session on what the Pesta Bloggers could/should be like.

If you can spare the time, can you come for an informal brainstorming session with some of the bloggers at my office next Thursday. We’ve scheduled the meeting from 10am to noon, to be followed by some lunch. It would be great if you an make it.

What: Bloggers brainstoring for Pesta Bloggers
Where: Jalan Balitung III/8 (It’s in Senopati, go to Jalan Gunawarman and turn right just after Tea Addict)
When: 10-noon, Thursday 9 August

This whole thing is informal and if you think that other bloggers, provided that they are popular, should come along, please let me and my colleague Hanny know.

As Wednesday is a holiday can you please let us know if you’ll be able to make it to the meeting Thursday so we know how many people to prepare food for?

As you might guess, I could not attend the brainstorming meeting. Yesterday, however, Enda Nasution told me the result through email.

Pesta Blogger 2007 or Indonesian Blogger Party 2007, would be the first of Blogger Indonesia meeting in such magnitude. And I wish Ong Hock Chuan as an initiator of the event and Enda Nasution as the steering committee Chairman a good luck.

I hope I could attend that September 11 meeting. Of course, if time allows.

Well… I finally found great blogging blog resources right in front of my face. Is this information addressed to A-list blogger only?
