“I felt as if I was turning around, and the earth was going up, and I was going into the earth,” said Mohamed Chaloub, a father of five who was thrown into a doorway and managed to escape. All five of his children, including a 2-year-old child, were killed. His wife, sister and aunt were also killed.
Lebanese PM Fuad Siniora denounced the attack as a “war crime”, demanding an immediate ceasefire in a conflict that has now killed more than 500 people and left a trail of destruction across the country.
Just to let you know, in case you dont, Fuad Siniora is a Christian.
Britain even after 19 days of gruesome and inhumane slaughter against civilians still reject to critisize not to say condemn the Israeli terror act. Only Jack Straw, the former foreign secretary, try to give a “hint” of condemnation and stands up for Lebanon:
“If you want to go for Hezbollah, go for Hezbollah, not the whole Lebanese nation.”
The powerless UNSC (always vetoed by the US when comes to condem Israel), whose own peace-keeping forces became a victim of Israeli blinded deadly attacks, deplores the bloodiest Israel attack so far:
The United Nations Security Council unanimously deplored Israel’s deadly attack on Qana village in Lebanon, which killed at least 59 people, including 37 children, but the United States blocked attempts to call for an immediate ceasefire.
The “innocent” Israel seems to jitter at world condemnation and therefore express “regret”.
What is the US doing to prevent further esacalation in the region and to stop Israel’s atrocities? Here you go:
The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, American officials said Friday.
And Britain, as usual, follows suit.
Update: Anyway, I’m proud of Indonesian bloggers condemn Israel movement. It won’t make an impact to the conflicting parties, but at least it makes an impact to ourselves: a sense of solidarity towards those civilians attacked, slaughtered–many of them women and children.
