First of all, I’d like to congratulate Budi Putra for being selected as a permanent contributor to CNET Asia. One of the big time techno portals in Asia, if not the world. That’s truly an achievement as he’s the first and only Indonesian to pen his piece regularly there, and is among the exclusive eight IT writers in Asia. He’s supposed to write twice a week for one year in a column specifically allocated for him.
What does make the CNET shows interest at him and how does it happen? Simple. Because he’s blogging in English. And that enable everybody outthere to take notice on your potential and capability.
Interestingly, he said that he’s blogging in English because of and inspired by me. And as an acknowledegment, he wants me to be the first person who should know the very good news. In his email he says:
Anda adalah orang pertama yang saya kasih tahu soal ini. Why? Karena Andalah yang mendorong saya agar terus menulis bahasa Inggris. Sejak bulan lalu saya juga menulis artikel IT untuk The Jakarta Post.Sekali lagi, terimakasih atas dorongannya. Anda dan blog Anda benar2 telah menginspirasi saya.
Well, to be honest that’s quite a compliment. I am happy personally. Having said that as I repeatedly say the other day, a personal happiness will last short. It’s a happiness that goes beyond my personal feeling and personal interest that last longer: to see Indonesian bloggers flourish with their English-speaking blog in the international blogosphere and gain unthinkable and unimaginable benefits out of it. What Budi Putra has achieved for now, I believe, just a beginning, a tip of an iceberg. Many more to come for sure, for him and for anyone who follows his path.

When my blog at http://afemaleguest.blog.co.uk got lots of interest from its viewers who mostly live in the western countries–besides some eastern countries, like India–I wanted to get similar interest from my own fellow citizens, so I started to write in Bahasa, once in a while. But in fact, still I didn’t get what I wanted. I didn’t have any idea why. Perhaps I am too solitary and don’t have many friends who are willing to spare their time to visit my blog, moreover to leave comments.
Then, Jennie S. Bev encouraged me to write in English more. And, after understanding the function of “View My Stats …” more (how I was very illiterate in this kind of thing LOL, and from this facility too, I found you highlight my blog)–one of them is to trace from which countries my visitors come, I felt encouraged again to write in English.

I’m your big fan fatih, and also motivated since I knew there are a few Indonesian people blogging in English from this blog. You truly right about the effectiveness and clearity in using english to share messages over the world.
Of course that need a very very huge effort for us who genuinely non native english speaker, but still..there’s a way. Might this media (blogging) can support our learning process.
Regards..
#thanks Dendy

Years ago sitting in a chair at an internet cafe as the night crept away, I stumbled upon a blog and found the benefits of blogging in English. I started to blog but I quit after months full of struggle. I now resume blogging, really try to make my best efforts to both my undertake of honing my writing skills and grabbing some bucks to feed myself. And that blog was fatihsyuhud.com.
#hey, thanks if i could inspire you. but to succeed, you should see beyond me. problogger.net and johnchow.com i think are the best places to hang out to learn how to sell yourself in the blogging world. wish you luck. keep writing in English with patience, passion and vision (if you want some bucks from it)
