What do Steve Jobs and God have in common? Jeremy Wagstaff has this to say (emphasis mine):
What I’m not interested in:
heavily corporate technology or press releases that would only make sense to someone inside the industry
any press release about some new appointment, unless his name is Steve Jobs or God (or both).
An interesting way (good sense of humor too) to express one’s admiration to the ever innovating techno-geek Steve Jobs. One wonders, however, why we rarely find such diehardism to the inventor of personal computer called Bill Gates? Is the latter such a unpleasant personality so much so that people’s dislikeness hinder any admiration to his great achiement?

Maybe simply because people tend to dislike “kemapanan”, and the fact that Bill Gates is too rich, just bring out our bohemian spirit. i dont know about Apple vs Microsoft though, but i like Steve Jobs. i wont forget what he once said about death “No body wants to die. even them, who believe in heaven, don’t wana die to get there”. haha..in Times People’s of the Year, i choose Steve Jobbs. I think like Obama in politic, Steve Jobbs is a businessman that is just..different.

Bohemian spirit. Cool.
People love Bill Gates, it’s Windows they hate.
I like Al Gore.

I guess people just got bored with Microsoft because its been around for too long(although most of them can’t live without it). And just like any other things in life, people need something for a change. Steve Job came at the right time.

Steve Jobs is a great & inspiring man. Not only because he’s the CEO of one of the most innovative company, but also because he’s like the anti thesis of mainstream. He got sacked from Apple and made a comeback more than 10 yrs later. It was probably one of the biggest comeback in the history of business.
The way he leads Apple is one of a kind (he is famous for being temperamental and straightforward). But he knows what he’s doing and look where he got Apple after almost filing for bankruptcy pre-1997.
Bill Gates is also a great man, but less inspiring (at least to me), since he is too mainstream. Look at his nerdy style of everything. He is also a great business man, as opposed to his predecessor Ballmer. The way Ballmer leads, make Microsoft more like Microshaft to me
