Link Farm
Link Farm or linkfarm meaning and definition from SEO perspective
Link farm practice is not advisable from SEO point of view as you may get penalties from Google and other major search engine like Yahoo, Bing and Ask
On the internet, a link farm is defined as any group of web sites or blogs that all hyperlink to every other site or blog in the group. Although some link farms can be created by hand, most are created through automated programs and services. A link farm is a form of spamming the index of a search engine (sometimes called spamdexing or spamexing).[1]
In short, link farm is the process of exchanging reciprocal links with [non-relevant] web sites [or blogs] in order to increase search engine optimization.
In Unix systems, a link farm is a directory tree containing links to files in a master directory tree of files.[2]
Other link exchange systems are designed to allow individual websites to selectively exchange links with other relevant websites and are not considered a form of spamdexing.
