7.1 Strong Quake Hits Indonesia
Strong Quake Hits Indonesia, Killing 34 people
A powerful earthquake struck the southern coast of Java on Wednesday, killing at least 34 people and rocking buildings 120 miles away in the capital, Jakarta, government officials said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center of the National Weather Service said the 7.1 magnitude quake struck Java, Indonesia’s main island, at 2:55 p.m. local time. The center’s initial report, at 3:06 p.m., triggered a tsunami watch, although that was canceled 15 minutes later.
My deep condolences to those killed and their family.
Apple’s Snow Leopard is Safer than Windows
Snow Leopard lacks security features, yet is still safer compared to Windows, because so few malware programs target the Mac.
Apple users have less protection from viruses and malicious software than Windows users do. But they’re still safer, security experts agree, because so few malware programs target the Mac.
Apple’s new Snow Leopard operating system, which landed in stores Friday, adds a few security enhancements to protect Mac users from malware. But like previous versions of the Mac OS, Snow Leopard lacks security features that are built in to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, such as full Address Space Layout Randomization to thwart attacks from malicious code.
That makes Macs more vulnerable to attack, explained Charlie Miller, a security researcher and author of the book The Mac Hacker’s Handbook. But despite its weaknesses, Mac users have no reason to panic — yet. Apple’s PC market share is still roughly only about 10 percent, giving hackers and malicious software coders very little economic incentive to target the Mac.
Malaysia Claims Jemur Island
Bali’s Pendet dance row has not dissipated yet, Malaysia has allegedly claimed pulau Jemur (Jemur island) as its own. Viva News reports:
Amid the unsettled dispute over the inclusion of Pendet dance show on ‘Enigmatic Malaysia’ ad and the Malaysian national anthem ‘Negaraku’ which is allegedly copied from the ‘Terang Bulan’ song, a new problem emerged.

On Travel Journal and Osvaja.net, Jemur Island is deemed a tourism destination of Selanggor, Malaysia. The website also declares 2° 52′ 10 North Latitude and 100° 34′ 0 East Longitude as the location of the island.
If you don’t have a clue where Pulau Jemur is, this is what Wikipedia has to say:

Obama more successful on terrorism
Couldn’t agree more. Terrorism and terrorists have to be dealt with solid human intelligence. In international level, that means the US has to honestly make friends with international community based on mutual respect and equality.
In terms of Indonesia, Indonesian police force have to be more friendly with Islamic institution (pesantren and madrasah) and Islamic organisation (NU, Muhammadiyah, Jama’ah Tabligh, etc) to win the heart and mind of them (Santri community). A report from Reuters:
The United States is having more success fighting terrorism under President Barack Obama partly because of his “radically different” approach to foreign policy, National security adviser Jim Jones said on Monday.
In an interview with ABC News, Jones said Obama’s efforts to reach out to world leaders and improve relations with law enforcement agencies had made it easier to track and kill terrorists than during the Bush administration.
“We have better human intelligence. We know where the terrorists are moving,” Jones told ABC.
“Because of the dialogue and the tone of the dialogue between us and our friends and allies … the trend line against terrorism is positive,” he added.
