49 Million Americans Going Hungry

Even in the world richest country like USA, the hungry people do exist. 49 million out of 350 million is not small number. via WP
The number of Americans who lack dependable access to adequate food shot up last year to 49 million, the largest number since the government has been keeping track, according to a federal report released Monday that shows particularly steep increases in food scarcity among families with children.
In 2008, the report found, nearly 17 million children — more than one in five across the United States — were living in households in which food at times ran short, up from slightly more than 12 million youngsters the year before. And the number of children who sometimes were outright hungry rose from nearly 700,000 to almost 1.1 million.

There is literally no hunger-free corner in this universe.And because the US is located in this universe, Americans are not hunger-free either in spite of of their high income per capita.After all, they’re not that prosperous actually! Not all Americans are as fortunate as Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, the Hiltons, the Rockefellers, and all those jetsets and glamorous celebs we always watch on TV. That bright side exists but doesn’t represent the US as a whole. There’s a darker side, poverty, which slips out of our radar. I think we ought to know that some Americans lead a more miserable life than the poorest Indonesian. They are homeless, sleeping at night under the town’s sewage pipe lines, or spending their nights in vehicles as they can’t pay their morgage.America is rich? Hmmm, think again..
yup.. this is one of the worst impact of the capitalist economy-lack of economic equality- even in a superpower country like America.
and unfortunately it also happened in our beloved country.
