Pennies for Prita Campaign Pulls In Rp 500 Million. The question is why people, many of them are downtrodden / poorest of the poors, are voluntarily giving their pennies for Prita? You tell me. One thing is clear: it’s a lesson learnt for judicial enforcement (police, attorney, judge) and for any rich institution not to arrogantly treat people unjustly.
Aweek after losing her appeal in a controversial defamation suit, Prita Mulyasari now has more than enough money to pay off the Rp 204 million ($21,624) fine if she loses her Supreme Court appeal.
From the politicians, businessmen, children and scavengers who have come out in droves to support the 32-year-old mother of two, more than Rp 500 million in pledges and donations has now been raised, according to her lawyer, Slamet Yuwono.
The Help Prita movement, which began collecting coins for Prita on Friday, has raised money from 13 cities across the country.
Sisilia Pujiastuti, the coordinator of the donation center in Jati Padang, South Jakarta, told the Jakarta Globe on Wednesday that the group doesn’t have the total figure yet, but her center alone has raised more than Rp 40 million. She said the center collected nearly Rp 18 million on Tuesday.

Hmmm…untug 2 x lipet tuh….kasusnya ga jd lg…
I’m not that surprised to see this happening.What can we do to change this unfair system? It’s not the coins that count. It is the morality of the supportive people that really counts.We-the grassroots- are too much weak to change it, but at least we have shown our strongest determination to change. So what about you all, political elites?

Let us hope that this would be a lesson for the law enforcement agencies that they should always use their conscience in investigating, and/or prosecuting and/or passing verdict.
Semoga tidak terjadi lagi kasus Prita dimasa yg akan datang….
We just want to make sure that, we pay it with tons of coins, we have to realize, Prita’s case sometimes it will be our case too…

Nampaknya dari pihak rumah sakit omni telah menarik kasus perdatanya. Prita tidak harus bayar. Tinggal kasus pidananya nanti bagaimana respon pengadilan.

Prita Mulyasari is a Tangerang Jakarta housewife and mother of two who was a patient at Omni International Hospital for an illness that was misdiagnosed eventually as mumps.Her complaints about her treatment which started as a private email were made public and she was jailed following her losing a civil defamation suit taken by the hospital.
