Facebook for what?

Jadi kemungkinan facebook ini hanya tren sesaat, persis seperti yang Mas bilang hanya karena demam obama saja mungkin.

Globalization makes people need easy access including in social network. Esp. FB is more interactive than FS, even chat facility coz of wall-to-wall view that not need the same time to reply. Particularly, it has benefit in the interaction with close friend (nice to get new friend, but not main thing). We can express our think, mood, greeting, activity etc as well as really situation, without gesture of course, whenever coz wall will’be saved. It can be ourself actualization tool. It has fun actually. Note: it can be good thing, if we use it well, not addict.

saya gabung di friendster karena diajak teman, awalnya sangat senang dan rajin mengupdate, tp lama kelamaan mulai jenuh karna semaikn banyaknya spam dan ‘impersonal’/memakai foto orang lain. Facebook sy tau dr teman juga, sementara masih wait en see tp lumayan banyak jumpa dengan teman semasa sekolah dulu karena di FB ini hampir semuanya mengisi identitas asli dan sesuai dengan foto di profile.

Awalnya saya bikin akun fesbuk hanya karena ikut – ikutan teman kantor saja, apalagi juga berita – berita di media massa semakin membuat penasaran.

I use faceboook to interact with my old and current friends. It is amazing that this tools also help to connect with new friends around the world and help to drive traffic to your blog if used properly.

Facebook makes the world even smaller. I use facebook to keep in contact with all friends, share information and looking up for more information. Where you can find a better way to keep in contact with all your fellas, as people already mentioned above, a big chance to meet your old friends, and get in touch with them again! Facebook at all not a waste if you control it =).

First time I signed up at facebook was because some friends in my community (b2w semarang) invited me. I found out that they started posting pictures of our activities in their account at FB (instead of at http://www.multiply.com while in fact ‘we’ used this site before). So, to be able to see those pictures (where I am involved too :-d) I needed an account at FB.
Second, out of the blue I found many other ‘Podungge’, relatives I have never met, since I was born and grew up in Semarang. I did not experience this at multiply, friendster, or HI5. No wonder then I accepted many invitations from relatives I have never known before.
Third, the same as you, I gave link to my blog in my FB account.
Fourth, the same as the others too, I found some long-lost friends who have moved out of town at FB. Perhaps during ‘FS era’ or the others, they were not using this networking site yet.

hmmmm.. buat saya, fb lebih sip dari fs mas. mungkin kalo dikategorkan ke kategori nomer 2. walo di fs sebenarnya aku juga gak terlalu aktif. yang pertama membuat saya tertarik di fb adalah fasilitas info (profile) yang bener-bener bisa menjadi online CV bagi kita. ditambah lagi fasilitas wall (status) yang menjadikan kita semakin bisa memberikan kabar ke pada temen-temen dan juga mengetahui kabar temen2. dan trakir adalah soal event managemen yang bagus di FB, membuat saya dan temen-temen bisa lebih asyik kalo mau bertukar info mengenai suatu event.

Yahh,..kalo saya sih Facebook buat cuci2 mata aja, liat foto2 cwcw yang cakep kalo lagi boring,…hihihihi, toh ketemu temen2 lama di facebook juga ujung2nya cuman nostalgia lagu lama jaman SD, SMP, SMA,…hahahhahaha,…udah lah yang pasti2 aja kalo saya sih,…ya begini ini,…BLOGGING.

Let me analyze my own reason(s) for joining FB:
1. Obamania? Definitely not, I wasn’t aware of the fact he’s got a FB account before you told me that.
2. Friendster diehard alumni?I barely sign in and run my FS account.
3. Pure trend followers? At first,yes..My pal sent an invitation mail to join FB,and I thought “why not? It sounds cool and hip.Everyone keeps buzzing on FB fever.”
4.Just to drive traffic to their blog? I didn’t run a blog when I signed up for it.
5.To keep in touch with friends and families? That’s the benefit I later found by having an FB account.
6. To find long lost friends? I did run into my elementary school pals on FB.Getting to know them once again as they have changed a lot!! Some of them even don’t look like who they were during the schol days at least as long as my memory serves.

7. To impersonate idols/celebs
I spotted some accounts nicknamed with celebs’ names and profile photos. Seems they get obsessed too much with those celebs.Some of them posted statuses saying they were doing some shoots for the next season of their TV series
..Acting like real famous people disgusts me…
