Indonesian According to Google
Google sees Indonesians as primitive, barefooted and backward
If image speaks a thousand words, then Google makes it clear what Indonesia is all about. You’d understand what I am saying if you try to search for Indonesia through the most popular search engine. To make it brief, open google.com, write key word “indonesia” in the search box and click search. What you’d see is top ten links heading towards ten most popular websites that discuss or write about Indonesia.
On top of them are three pictures; two are Indonesia maps and geographical position of the country. In the middle of them is a picture of three persons which Google thinks representing Indonesian people. Below is the Indonesian people according to Google:
So, if you are not looking like this picture, basically you are NOT a true Indonesian. At least, that’s what Google would like to say.

Look at our representatives in parliament, they can wear fancy clothes, buy cool gadgets, but when the debate arose among different fractions, they could unashamedly start the quarrel.. They always remind me to myself when I was in elementary school..
Google may be right in a sense that some of us are still “primitive”..

I think Google is simply representative of the fact that more information does not necessarily equal more understanding. With all of the information available to the world via the web, “porn” continually tops the list of the most searched term.
If it’s any consolation, go to google.com, then select “images”, and type “george bush”. I think you’ll feel a bit better.
hahahah… it is very funny, most people outside think Indonesia is very primitive, nomaden people and living in trees. Bali is more famous rather than Indonesia itself.
it should be “Indonesia According to Google”
not “Indonesian According to Google”.

i intentionally wrote that way. i meant indonesian people not indonesia as a country. my emphasis was on the papuan men who got the honor to represent indonesian (again not indonesia) as a whole.
but it’s a very important difference.
