The answer is NO. If you’d like to study in India, you should never expect to get a part-time job and therefore prepare anything which will be needed from your home: money.
having said that, it doesnt mean there’s no part-time job at all. there’re few friends who got a part-time job in indonesian embassy as a translator; or in some call-center company also as a translator. but such job is not for everybody and also we are needed everytime. i, myself, sometimes got a such kind of job in the consulting company or call-center as a translator for a day or two in a month!
there’s another thing also i need you to know especially for muslim students: that we have one-time chance to work as seasonal worker during haj season to saudi arabia. we used to call it temus (tenaga musim) haji. every year, indonesian consulate general in jeddah will call any indonesian students in middle-east (egypt, syria, jordan, sudan, etc) and south asia (india, pakistan, bangladesh) to come to saudi arabia to assist the existing staff there as guide for indonesian hajis. but, of course, not all students are required. india, for example, got quota of 13 students (last year 11 students) every year. so, the staff of ppi-india (persatuan pelajar indonesia di india) will decide whose turn this year season. usually the student who just finish their study will get preference instead of new student who still engaged with academic activities.
