Liberal Islam’s Charles Kurzman

Title: Liberal Islam: A Sourcebook
Edited by: Charles Kurzman
Publisher: Oxford University Press New York . Oxford 1998

I have just received the above book I purchased more than a month ago via amazon.com. I’ve read it a bit during my late-year stay in India and I found it difficult to buy in Indonesia that’s why I ordered through amazon.com. There are several other books that I’ve bought via amazon.com the latest are two books which’s been shipped but is not yet arrived namely Obama’s Dreams from My Father and Tariq Ramadan’s Radical Reform: Islamic Ethics and Liberation.

Speaking of Liberal Islam, one interesting thing in the book is that M. Natsir the first Prime Minister of Indonesia in 1950s was considered liberal by Kurzman while in Indonesia he’s regarded as the father of Islamist specially among the current Islam Liberal young turks. More about it later.

I disagreed with Liberal Islam because they broke many of Syariat Islam …..
Islam Based on Aal-Qur’an And Sunnnah but the liberal just use their rusty brain to judge many hukm in Islam
