Nadya Suleman the Octuplets Mother
Controversial Beverly Hills doctor Dr Michael Kamrava, who helped Nadya Suleman conceive octuplets, also treated a 49-year-old who is expecting quadruplets.
Dr Michael Kamrava, who runs the West Coast IVF Clinic, transferred at least seven embryos made from donor eggs into the unnamed pregnant woman, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Fertility guidelines state that no more than five embryos should be transferred into IVF patients over the age of 40. Women Miss Suleman’s age – 33 – should have a maximum of two implanted in the womb during a single cycle, the American Society For Reproductive Medicine states.
Dr Kamrava is alleged to have ignored the directives, transferring six into the unemployed single mother, who already had six children at the time of the octuplets’ conception. Two of the embryos spit, according to Miss Suleman, resulting in the birth of six boys and two girls on January 26th.
The 49-year-old expectant mother already has three adult children, but wanted a baby with her new husband, who is believed to be almost 20 years her junior, according to reports.
