Newborn Babies May Cry in their Mother Tongues
Posted on November 7, 2009
Do newborn babies have accents? Yes. Babies are found to cry in their mother’s tongue, reports scientists
Only days after birth, babies have a bawl with language. Newborn babies cry in melodic patterns that they have heard in adults’ conversations—even while in the womb, say medical anthropologist Kathleen Wermke of the University of Würzburg in Germany, and her colleagues.
By 2 to 5 days of age, infants’ cries bear the tuneful signature of their parents’ native tongue, a sign that language learning has already commenced, the researchers report in a paper published online November 5 in Current Biology.
The question is how about a baby with parents of different mother-tongues, such as from Javanese mother and Madurese father (like me)?

Hmmm, is it a trick question? I guess you must conduct some research to find out the answer.Find some babies with parents having different linguistic background like you and interview their parents in great detail. I think it’d be a cool topic to be written as a scientific paper or perhaps a Ph. D. disertation.
This sounds to be a psycholinguistic discussion, which I once learned a few years ago but seems like most of the memory is wiped out..^_^ But apart from that, I really love to observe my 9-year-old niece who has begun to pronounce some words. She is unbeatably cute!
Apa mungkin bawaan DNA kali ya
I believe that the baby has got instruction from The Almighty, we muslim people call it as hidayah. There are many kinds of hidayah, including how the baby crying, suckle on the breast etc.
