Rani Juliani
Rani Juliani (or Rhani Juliani, Rani Yuliani as some say it) is a next-door kind of girl whose status elevated into a celebrities-like by Indonesian media both print and television. She’s now an unusual girl because she’s the epicenter of a murder case of a state-owned company director involving a high rank official and rising star name such as Antasari Azhar the chief of corruption eradication commisssion (KPK), the one behind the capture of high rank corrupt officials including Aulia Pohan, father in law of Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyo‘s son.
For this very reason, many think that this Antasari Azhar‘s involvement is questionable or if he did it’s a trap, a very good trap that made him fall into.
But Indonesian power elites are no different with their counterparts in other parts of the world: they may have been resilient in resisting bribes in form of money or wealth. But it’s hard for them to resist the temptation if it’s in the form of woman.
As far as Antasari Azhar is concerned, it’s just coincident if the woman is called Rani Juliani.
Rani Juliani may not be aware that she’s, in this case, actually just a thing, a propert–not a human–whose role she should play is decided 100 percent by the master. What she cares more I think is that whatever role she plays would ok as far as it benefit her from money point of view. Among Indonesian studpid and impoverished girl like her who dream of lavish and extravagant lives, whatever role they play that that can make them close to rich personalities is more than ok.
