As far as ASEAN is concerned, we’re afraid more of Singapore Flu instead of Mexico flu. Indonesia, for example, will be testing all travelers who come from Singapore, especially in Jakarta and Surabaya airport:
In anticipation of a possible outbreak of the Singaporean flu, the Jakarta health agency has requested all arrivals to the city to be medically screened.
“We are working together with every medical facility and hospital around airports and seaports. Anyone arriving in Jakarta must have themselves checked before passing through,” Jakarta Health Agency Chief Tini Suryanti said, as quoted by detik.com on Thursday.
The city has been on alert for a possible outbreak of Singaporean flu, also known as hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), after a case was recently found in Depok, south of Jakarta
Jakarta Health agency, however, assures that Singaporean Flu is nothing to worry about.
Jakarta’s health agency said that city residents should not be concerned about the 11 cases of Singapore Flu, also known as hand, foot and mouth disease, that have been recorded in Jakarta since January.
Agency head Dien Emawati said it recorded one case in January, three in February and seven in March, but that no cases had been recorded this month.
“All the patients have fully recovered,” Dien said, adding that the cases were found in hospitals in upscale parts of Jakarta, such as Pondok Indah and Gading Pluit.
Dien said in a discussion at City Hall that the symptoms of Singapore Flu were similar to regular influenza, but also included rashes on the hands, feet and around the mouth.
