He claims he has tested all six templates. One of them is a blogger template designed by Isnaini.

Here’s the six SEO friendly Blogspot themes:

Simple blogger template

Blue Square

Yellow simple

As far as design is concerned, I like a template designed by Felixberto Baguyo, Jr. which he claims to be SEO friendly as well. He calls it Black Adsense Ready template (see picture below)

If you have any SEO friendly blogger blogspot template, or find out somewhere, please tell us in the comment box.

How to create different meta description and meta keywords in every single posts/articles/pages automatically in blogger blogspot using blog post titles.

I. Introduction
II. How to create auto meta description
III. Alternative Automatic Meta Description script

As previously mentioned, to achieve better SERP and SEO, each and every articles we write in our blog has to have its own meta description which should be different with that of mainpage’s. This can be easily done in a self-hosted wordpress blog: All in One SEO Pack or Platinum SEO Pack plugins will do the task. Not for a blogger blogspot hosted blog.

There are some few hacks to do this in blogger blogspot. The following hack is the one I like the most and I used for Farzan‘s blog.

II. Step by step Tutorial

1. Login to your blogger.com -> Layout -> Edit HTML
2. Copy and Paste the following code, and put it immediately after <head>

<meta content=’Farzan Esfandiar baby center baby names health problems parenting first year newborn toddler’ name=’description’/>

<meta content=’farzan esfandiar, baby center, newborn, toddler, baby names, health problems’ name=’keywords’/>

<b:else/>

<meta expr:content=’data:blog.pageName + &quot; – Farzan Esfandiar baby center baby names health problems parenting first year newborn&quot;’ name=’description’/>
<meta expr:content=’data:blog.pageName + &quot;, baby center, pregnancy, baby, daughter, son, kid, babycenter, toddler, mother, father, mom, dad, baby girl, baby boy, babies&quot;’ name=’keywords’/>

</b:if>

3. Change the meta content description and keywords as you like.
4. Click Save Template

Functionality:
1. When search engine visits the main page, it will show the main page meta description and keywords

2. When search engine visits a particular page / post / article, it will show the title as its meta description and meta keywords. Thus different from the main page.

Live Demo:

1. Visit the main page of Farzan Esfandiar‘s blog (main page) and open View -> Page Source. You’d see the meta description and keywords of the blog.

2. Visit a particular post, like I am Walking. Open View -> Page Source. You’d see the title [I am walking] is used for meta description and keywords. Thus, saves your articles from duplicate contents.

This hack is not perfect, but it’s still better.

Btw, this hack is not mine, but I don’t know the first person who invented it first. If you are the one, make a comment along with the link to the post.

III. No-ack has created an auto-generated meta description for each post taken from the first sentences of a particular article and keywords taken from the label. It seems good. See here for more details.

When I open the view source of his page, the meta description and meta keyword looks good.

It look like All in One SEO Pack / Platinum SEO Pack wordpress plugins. I am impressed.

Here is what it looks like:

<!– BEGIN OF AUTO-GENERATED META TAGS –>
<meta content=’When I have created this blog, I assumed that it is optimized for search engines out of the box, as Google has bought Blogger in 2003. But it turns out that it is actually pretty hard to add meta tags for search engines to a blog, powered by Blogger.’ name=’description’/>
<meta content=’Blogger, SEO’ name=’keywords’/>
<!– END OF AUTO-GENERATED META TAGS –>

SEO Title for Blogspot

To make your blogspot’s blog even more SEO friendly, make your post title and blog name SEO friendly as well. Visit here for simple tutorial.

On February 15, 2010 I got an email from Google.com as the owner of blogger.com that one of my blog hosted at blogger.com has been deleted for, according to the email, violation of TOS (terms of services). The email said:

Email sender: Blogger
Hello,

Your blog at [website.com] has been reviewed and confirmed as in violation of our Terms of Service for: SPAM. In accordance to these terms, we’ve removed the blog and the URL is no longer accessible.

For more information, please review the following resources:

Blogger Terms of Service: http://blogger.com/terms.g
Blogger Content Policy: http://blogger.com/content.g

-The Blogger Team

I then logged in to my blogger.com admin, and request for restoration of the blog (by clicking the “Restore” button).

Today (two days later), I got another email stating that the blog in question was NOT in violation of Blogger TOS. Meaning, the Blogger Team has WRONGLY deleted my blog. So, the blog is back. Here’s the second email:

Hello,

Your blog at has been reviewed and confirmed as in violation of our Terms of Service for: NONE. In accordance to these terms, we’ve removed the blog and the URL is no longer accessible.

For more information, please review the following resources:

Blogger Terms of Service: http://blogger.com/terms.g
Blogger Content Policy: http://blogger.com/content.g

-The Blogger Team

This is not the first time that blogger.com has wrongly disabled/ deleted some blogs I created for alleged spam which has NEVER been true. The most shocking was when it deleted my favorite afsyuhud.blogspot.com which had Google PR 6 back then and because of which I moved to fatihsyuhud.com untill now.

Blogger.com seems never want to improve its spam detection tools. So many victims of Blogger outdated anti-spam-machine which make them move forever to another free blogging platform like WordPress.com or go to a paid hosted blog. If I may advise the Blogger team, they should turn off the anti-spam detection tools and check the suspicious blogs manually so that this kind of unnecessary case no longer happen in the future. This really create a very bad image to blogger.com.

I am sure, if blogger.com still stick to this kind of policy i.e. punishing a blog simply based on automatic anti-spam report, blogger.com will be left out by so many of its users.

Act before it comes too late, Blogger.com!

***

Lessons learnt for newbie bloggers are these:

1. If you are interested in personal blogging / writing without any interest in making money online, create a blog in a free blog like wordpress.com.

2. If you want both expressing your free speech and making money online at the same time, create a blog in a self-hosted wordpress blog.

3. If you want to make a niche blog, ie a blog with specific content, for making money, run the blog in a self-hosted wordpress blog as well.

***

There is a recent case in which a popular music blog has been mistakenly deleted too by Blogger.com team. This is from Blogger Team official blog (emphasis is mine):

We looked into this issue further and identified one case where a blogger did not receive notification of any DMCA complaints before their blog was removed. We’re sorry about this.

We’ve contacted the blog owner and restored their blog, effective immediately, and we fixed the bug that caused the termination without prior notification. We’re also looking into additional preventative protections. We know the DMCA process can be difficult to navigate, and we’re working on ways to make this process as smooth as possible.

If you update your blog regularly with original quality content and finally you get tired because your blog performance in Google is not as you want it. What to do?

Read also:

Auto-Generate Meta Description for Blogger Blogspot

Each Post Different Meta Description Title-based for Blogger Blogspot

First, improve the meta tag description for the blog.
Second, create different meta tag description for each and every post.

More on this just listen to what the Google Webmaster Team has to say:

Using identical or similar descriptions on every page of a site isn’t very helpful when individual pages appear in the web results. In these cases we’re less likely to display the boilerplate text. Create descriptions that accurately describe each specific page. Use site-level descriptions on the main home page or other aggregation pages, and consider using page-level descriptions everywhere else. You should obviously prioritize parts of your site if you don’t have time to create a description for every single page; at the very least, create a description for the critical URLs like your homepage and popular pages.

The first point is easy. Google it on how to create meta tag description, you’ll find it right away.
The second part is also easy if you have a self-hosted wordpress blog. Just use Platinum SEO Pack plugins and set the tag or category as your automatic meta description of any particular post / article.

However, if your blog is run on blogger.com / blogspot you have to use meta description on each post manually.
Some tutorials on how to create a different meta tag for different post/article in blogger.com / blogspot can be found in the following links:

Wish you luck!

You set the price and once an advertiser is interested to put an ad in your tweet, you’ll earn money. For how much? It depends on how much price you have set. John Chow said once that he got USD 2,000 (yes, two thousand US dollar for one tweet ads!)

If you are blogging in blogger.com / blogspot, there’s something you should be prepared: your blog all of a sudden being wrongly disabled. This happens a lot and if it happens to you nothing you can do about it. You cannot protest blogger.com for this. All you have to do is submit a request to RESTORE back your blog since your blog is not spam, the only reason behind the disabling.

If your blog is not spam and you are not a spammer, why blogger.com disables your blog? Blogger.com uses automatic anti-spam tools which probably sends a wrong signal in reporting your blog activities and thus automatically disable your blog. Since it’s done automatically by anti-spam machine, Blogger.com opens to restoration request–and even offer an apology. Here’s what blogger.com has to say on this issue:

Why is my blog disabled? If your blog is disabled, it will be listed on your Dashboard, but you will not be able to click on it to access it. If this is the case, there will be a grace period during which you can request that it be reviewed and recovered. The disabling is a result of our automated classification system marking it as spam. Because this system is automated there will necessarily be some false positives, though we’re continually working on improving our algorithms to avoid these. If your blog is not a spam blog, then it was one of the false positives, and we apologize.

What constitutes a spam blog in blogger.com book which deserves the disable award? Link spamming, says Blogspot:

Blogs engaged in this [link spamming] behavior are called spam blogs, and can be recognized by their irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text, along with a large number of links, usually all pointing to a single site.

Actually it’s not the only reason. Another factor of what’s considered spam blog in blogger.com is if you’re writing many articles within a short span of time or a day. The anti spam bot will detect your blog as spam as well and deserve to be disabled by blogger.com / blogspot. A nasty competitor can also make your blog disabled by reporting your blog as a spam one. So, beware.

As a precaution, it’s better if you import your blog content in blogspot to a wordpress-powered blog on regular basis (monthly, for example) as a backup. Be it in a free wordpress blog like wordpress.com or in a wordpress self-hosted blog to make sure that your blog content you write painstakingly do not go wasted just in case blogger.com don’t want to restore your blog content back.

If you have a newly set-up blog, you need to install one of Feedjit widget in your sidebar to have your blog indexed quicker by major search engine like Google. It’s one of the easiest way. There are four types of widget. You need to put just one of them. Preferably, Live Traffic Feed. Visit this site copy the code and paste into your blog’s sidebar (if you’re blogging in blogger.com or self-hosted blog); if you’re blogging in wordpress.com, you may visit this link instead.

The Live Traffic Feed will let you know who has come to your site and how (via search engine or other websites, etc).

Once your blog gets indexed by Google, you may remove the Feedjit widget if necessary.

To know if your blog is already indexed or not, just go to google.com and type this word in the search box : site:yourblog.com (there should no space between site: and the blog’s name).

Example: I’ll type [site:farzanesfandiar.blogspot.com] to know if the blog has been indexed by Google.

Notes:

If you’re really a newbie and no clue whatsoever on how and where to put the code, here’s the simple steps:

For WordPress.com: Widget -> Text ->Drag into the Sidebar -> Paste the code -> Save.

For Blogger.com / Blogspot: Page Element -> Javascript / HTML -> Paste the code -> Save.

fatihsyuhud.com

Creating sitemap for self-hosted WordPress is easy. You just need to install Google Sitemap Plugins which you can download for free.

Make no mistake, creating a sitemap for blogger.com / blogspot is even easier if you only know how. Basically creating sitemap need two steps: (i) Verification, to verify that you own the blog and (ii) Submitting Sitemap, to tell the search engine about your blog and every articles you have written. In return, Google search will tell the world about them (your blog and the contents) after the two procedures are done.

Now, follow these simple steps if you run a blog in blogger.com / blogspot:

First step: Verification

Login to your blogger.com account.

Scroll-down and find out “Webmaster Tools” -> click it. If you coudn’t find it, click here (remeber to click this link after login to your account).

Now, you have verified your blog. Congrats!

Second step: Submit the sitemap

You now have entered into Webmaster tools area. Find your blog URL there and click it. Example, I clcik -> mysite.blogspot.com

In the Dashboard click “Site Configuration -> Sitemaps -> click “Submit a Sitemap”

There will be your blog address like http://mysite.blogspot.com/–blankboxhere–

Copy and paste this code in the blankbox ->
atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100

Click “Submit Sitemaps”. Done.

Congratulations! Now you have told Google search about the first 100 posts of your blog contents.

Important: If you have more than 100 articles, say 200, repeat the second step and submit another Sitemap by changing the number into 101 and 200 like this one:
atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=101&max-results=200

Likewise, if you have 300 articles in your blog, you have to submit three sitemaps. The third sitemaps should be like this:
atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=201&max-results=300

Repeat the process and submit more sitemaps if you have hundreds of articles or even thousands of postings.

Wish you luck!
