Do you like talking for hours on your cellphone? Luckily, I don’t. That’s the answer if you ask me. I am not a a good mobile-phone-talker. Whenever someone talks to me through hand-phone or HP (ha-pe) as popularly known in Indonesia for more than one minute, I always give a hint to him to stop further conversation. Not because it causes brain tumors, as the latest finding reports. Just don’t like it.
LONG-term mobile phone users could face a higher risk of developing cancer in later life, according to a decade-long study.
The report, to be published later this year, has reportedly found that heavy mobile use is linked to brain tumours.

Samsung Electronics, the world’s second-largest phone maker by sales, will pay $400 million to InterDigital as part of a deal to settle a long-running wireless patent-infringement dispute before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
InterDigital, a small wireless company based in King of Prussia, Pa., has struggled for years to license its technology to the largest cellphone and network equipment makers.

Sales of Motorola Inc.’s cellphones crumbled in the important holiday season, dropping more than 50% from the year-ago quarter and prompting the company Wednesday to announce it was eliminating another 4,000 jobs.
Motorola is scrambling to stem losses in its flagship mobile devices division, which sold 19 million phones in the fourth quarter, down from 25.4 million in the third quarter and 40.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2007.
