The Food and Drug Administration warned yesterday that more than 25 weight-loss products contain undeclared, active pharmaceutical ingredients that may jeopardize the health of consumers.

STOCKHOLM (AFP) – Luc Montagnier, co-winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize for Medicine, Saturday stood by his view that a “therapeutic vaccine” for the AIDS pandemic could be created within four to five years.

“It is difficult to say, but it is perhaps a case of four to five years,” he told AFP, following a press conference in Stockholm ahead of receiving the prestigious prize next week.

In October Montagnier, 76, said an AIDS treatment could be possible in the future with a “therapeutic” rather than preventive vaccine for which results might be published in three or four years if financial backing is forthcoming.

INDONESIA on Thursday executed two Nigerians convicted of smuggling illegal drugs to mark the United Nations’ anti-drugs day, officials said.

Samuel Okoye, 37, and Hansen Nwaolisa, 40, were arrested at Jakarta’s international airport in 2001, each allegedly carrying more than three kilogrammes of heroin. They have been held at a high-security prison on Nusakambangan island since their conviction.[...]

Despite I have my reservation on death penalty in general, capital punishment on drug traffickers is an exception. My question in this matter only: what took the Indonesian government so long to bring the two Nigerians to the death squads? 

Drugs are the most lethal killers of humanity. It could kill the entire generation if it let loose. It’s even way more dangerous than terrorism. The drug dealers are basically not different with those terrorists: both are killing innocent people in a massive scale.

Indonesia should be more stern to deal with drug traffickers so Indonesia not regarded save heaven by them.
