The HS 250h is the first Lexus sedan that’s only available in hybrid form, though Lexus has already offered both conventional and hybrid powertrains in several vehicles.

Irv Miller, vice president of communications of Toyota Motor Sales, claimed that by 2010 Toyota should be selling one million hybrids a year.

Customers are now so used to hybrid and electric vehicles that Lexus dealers won’t need to do much preparation or special programming to sell the new HS 250h hybrid sedan, said Mr. Miller, unlike the efforts that were needed when Toyota plowed new ground with the Prius.
