I don’t think so. Corporate media–which dominate mainstream media in the US– has been dominated by people with anti-Islam conscience. Even if such FBI’s controversy didn’t arise, the anti-Islam will still be the American’s consciousness – well, at least many of them.

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III told a congressional hearing on Thursday that the bureau is conducting a review of training programs after disclosure of materials that equated devout Muslims with a greater propensity for violent extremism.

Mr. Mueller said that one part of the training program disclosed in a press account was “inappropriate and offensive,” but that the session was a “one-off” and not likely to be repeated.

Is religion cruel and drive someone to resort to violence instead of peace? Yes, an atheist who are bored to be religious might say.

One should not forget that an urge to go to violence is here within one’s heart. And human has a tendency to justify whatever one does to hide one’s true intention. And what the most legitimate reasons other than the reason of religion?

Hence, history witnessed the religion’s based ware in the Europe. Now, many terrorists, who claim to be Muslim, wage the war against anyone who doesn’t accept their ideology.

Anyone who cannot make peace with himself will always try to wage violence with or against others to satisfy his lust of doing violence acts. With or without the name of religion.

It’s the duty of all of us to keep it at bay. To fight any kind of violence means to achieve the ends.

I personally condemns any terror / violence means to achieve whatever goal.

Muslim scholars needs to work harder to enlighten a few grass-root people who are interpreting Islam in the most dangerous way.

So intense is the anti-Islam campaign done by a lot of Americans media and some intelecctuals that now it is obvious have penetrated into US’ establishment. The statement made by FBI analyst confirms this:

.. message from an F.B.I. counterterrorism analyst is provocative: fighting Al Qaeda and other extremist groups is a “waste” compared to the broader threat posed by Islam itself.

The lecturer, William Gawthrop, is an F.B.I. counterterrorism analyst and a professor at American Military University who has written academic articles on the connection between Islam and terrorism.

Wired magazine’s national security blog, Danger Room, obtained the video of the June presentation to a New York City chapter of Infragard, a partnership between the F.B.I. and private business to protect critical infrastructure from attack.

During the presentation, Mr. Gawthrop advocates trying to undermine Islam at its foundation as a way of combating terrorism, drawing an analogy to the fictional weapon of mass destruction at the center of the Star Wars films.

But Islam has been through this forever. Since the time immemoriam. So, expect a lot more than this in the future.

When Eid al-Fitr 2011: Tuesday or Wednesday? and Why are the differences among muslim countries?
Some Muslims in North America, Europe and the Middle East say the holy day falls Tuesday. Others, including those in India, Pakistan and Southeast Asia, are likely to hold out until Wednesday.

The reason is an argument over how to determine the arrival of a new moon cycle which marks the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan and the arrival of the following month of Shawwal.

Islamic tradition states that a new lunar month begins with the physical sighting of a sliver of the new moon at sunset. (Islamic months begin at sundown.)

..the Islamic Crescents’ Observation Project, a Jordanian-backed attempt to share global moon sighting data, you’ll see the new moon should easily be spotted tonight (Monday August 29) in Patagonia and some other parts of South America but not in most parts of North America, Europe and Asia. The Fiqh Council says it also might be visible tonight in Hawaii using a telescope. More

If you found many anti-Islam anti-Arab articles from American media both mainstream or contemporary media such as blogs and websites, there’s no need to wonder. It’s well orchestrated and well financed by a small group of donors and back up by anti-Islam intellectuals such as Frank Gaffney, David Yerushalmi, Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, and Steve Emerson. MJ Rosenberg wrote an interesting finding and commentary:

…until I read a report published today by the Center for American Progress (CAP), I had no idea just how orchestrated and well-financed this movement was.

The report, “Fear Inc: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America,” demonstrates that a small group of self-proclaimed experts (Frank Gaffney, David Yerushalmi, Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, and Steve Emerson) backed by a host of foundations and donors (many of which also fund the lobby) have put Islamophobia on the map.

To put it simply, without these “experts,” their donors, and Fox News (their media mouthpiece) you would never have heard that a Muslim community center (the “Ground Zero Mosque”) was being constructed in New York City. And the center certainly would not have become a major news story. Nor would Republican (and even a few Democratic) candidates for president, Congress, and even village councils be called upon to condemn Islam and “Sharia Law” or face being labeled a supporter of terrorism. Nor would Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain and Rick Santorum have made hatred of American Muslims such an integral part of their campaigns.

It all starts with the money. According to CAP:

A small group of foundations and wealthy donors are the lifeblood of the Islamophobia network in America, providing critical funding to a clutch of right-wing think tanks that peddle hate and fear of Muslims and Islam-in the form of books, reports, websites, blogs, and carefully crafted talking points that anti-Islam grassroots organizations and some right-wing religious groups use as propaganda for their constituency.

Some of these foundations and wealthy donors also provide direct funding to anti-Islam grassroots groups. According to our extensive analysis, here are the top seven contributors to promoting Islamophobia in our country:

        Donors Capital Fund
Richard Mellon Scaife foundations
Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation
Newton D. & Rochelle F. Becker foundations and charitable trust
Russell Berrie Foundation
Anchorage Charitable Fund and William Rosenwald Family Fund
Fairbrook Foundation
