Malaysia reach final in AFF Suzuki Cup 2010
Malaysia scored a 0-0 deadlock against Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on Saturday to advance into the Finals of the ASEAN Footbal Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.
According to the tournament website, the Vietnamese team was unable to get past the Malaysian’s defense because player Pham Thanh Luong was ousted on a second bookable offense, leaving his Vietnamese team shorthanded for the last 18 minutes of the game.
PM Malaysia said that reaching the final is a turning point.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today described Malaysia’s ability to reach the final of the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup as a turning point in the history of Malaysian football.
The Prime Minister who was among 5,000 odd football fans who watched Malaysia hold Vietnam 0-0 in their second leg semifinal at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam, through a ‘big screen’ live broadcast by Astro Supersport at Bukit Bintang here said it was also a revival of football in the country.
The 0-0 draw saw Malaysia advance to the final on a 2-0 aggregate, courtesy of a 2-0 win in the first leg semifinal, at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday.

The win puts Indonesia on course to possibly meet rival and neighbor Malaysia, which also won its semifinal first leg, in the final round.
AFF Cup 2010 Ticket Price Raised in Semi-Final
Ticket prices of AFF Cup 2010 semi-final match will increase significantly. PSSI will release ticket prices on Friday (10/12).
Previously the highest ticket price sold Rp505.000 VVIP class. However, ticket prices stay the same for the lowest class at 50,000 for category two.
Chairman of the LOC AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 Joko Driyono said, ticket prices likely to rise. Semi-final ticket will indeed be raised again from the previous one. “The exact amount of the increase is not known because it is still counted. Maybe tomorrow (today) it can be known,” he said, yesterday.
Joko added, semi-final ticket price revisions will be no more than 30% of its original value. However, revisions to the lowest price will be no more than 25%. The value of the match rose along with the increasing status of a semi-final group stage.
As reported earlier, Indonesia will host the semi-final match between Indonesia and the Philippines because the latter cannot meet the minimum standard requirement of stadium which will host the event.
The Philippines Disappointed over AFF Decision
Philippines disappointed not to hold a semi-final match of AFF Cup 2010. The reason, they are considered not to have a decent stadium to host matches.
As is known, through a bitter-sweet efforts, the Philippines made it through to the semifinal AFF Cup 2010, ranked second at the Group B standings. Unfortunately, Alexander Borromeo team can not hold a home game.
AFF announces the Philippines does not have a required stadium to host matches. As a result, Indonesia will certainly hold a semi-final match at Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.
