BOW
List of Blogger Indonesia of the Week, Blogger Indonesia of the Year and the requirements to get reviewed.
I make a blogger of the week (BOW)’s feature as a way to encourage, appreciate and promote Indonesian bloggers who blog in English. After several months I run this feature, it got attention from blog-indonesia.com–the largest Indonesia blog directory–who offers me to put the feature in its sidebar which I gladfully accepted. Thus, once your blog gets reviewed here, your blog will be promoted not only in this blog, but also in blog-indonesia.com. Thanks to its founder, W.M.
The requirement to get reviewed is simple: (a) Your blog is written in English; (b) The blogger is using original name or so it seems; pseudonym or ghostname blogger will not be considered unless for specific reasons; (c) Blogging frequently; (d) The content is original and not commercial (blog about career, vacancy (lowongan kerja), scholarship (beasiswa), etc won’t be included).
Each year, I also award the Top Ten Blogger of the Year for English-speaking Indonesian blogger whose blogs I already reviewed as Blogger Indonesia of the Week. The main criteria being not only the quality content of the blog, but more particularly, the influence and sort of leadership on-and-off-line the bloggers in question carry.
So, if you are an Indonesian and have an English-speaking blog and you feel it fits the above criteria, it’d be of great help if you put your blog URL address in the comment box below along with a brief intro. In the next few weeks, it could be your blog turn to be reviewed. Keep blogging, writing and sharing your precious thoughts.

Hi Mas Fatih, salam kenal. I’m just a beginner blogger. Learned it from Rane Hafied. Mostly I talk about how technology should be more empowered in the livelihood of our nation. I’m quite passionate about making live more convenient here in Indonesia through the use of technology. Hope you can find time to check out my blog: http;//augustmist.wordpress.com
Rgds
Mas Fatih,
At first, I wrote in English only to improve my skills in it. But since I’ve found the pleasure of blogging and how much I like to share my thoughts with other people, I finally created my new blog on the beginning of 2008. It’s about my life experiences and hope it could brighten someone’s mind.
Considering I’m a new blogger, I still have to learn many many things, but hope you have time to check it out: http://ayu-anopenbook.blogspot.com.
Thank you…
I am not Indonesian but have been in Jakarta for 15 years now…
I do not mind if I am not considered for ‘blogger of the week’ because I am not Indonesian…but my blog is about Indonesia and it is in English http://therabexperience.blogspot.com/ …Hopefully, this is enough for you to consider it…
Cheers,
Rob
@Rob: your blog is certainly eligible for review. thanks for the info.

Your efforts for supporting the local sphere will always be favoured and appreciated in kind, sir. Not everyone can do it and gets out alive! Harhar ..kidding.
Anyways, I’ll be blogging at Journal by The Lightbeamers, MD., independently writing from Jakarta, Indonesia.
Much thanks, and Happy New Year 2008.
I think you have made a great effort to encourage, appreciate and promote Indonesian bloggers who blog in English.
I have a blog which contains English lessons: grammar, vocabulary, idioms, games, etc. I hope this blog will be useful to those who have interest in learning English.
yes.. i’m just learning blog.. and try to write english .. even its more difficult than indonesian
a blog about tips and tricks to customizing blogger templates, and yes of course you can find downloadable blogger templates too there.
the URL? it’s http://www.JackBook.Com
thanks
Hey there Fatih, I happened to stumble upon your blog somehow (already forgot why, was just randomly following links in other blogs) and eventually got to this page…
See, I have a blog written in English, despite the majority of the readers (if any) being Indonesian. But the thing is… my blog isn’t exactly like most other blogs, which are mainly about writings. My blog is mainly about photos. I’m a photography student, and consequently my interest lays in anything photography related. I don’t write about politics (never understands one bit of it) I don’t write about the recent development of a national issue. I don’t write about entertainments. In fact, I write about something that most people wouldn’t get. And once again, the writing is rather minimal… you can say that while most people express themselves by writings in their blogs, I express myself through my photographs. Will it still be eligible in this ‘project’?
Anyway, I’m not usually interested in participating in the blogosphere scene for the reasons mentioned above… but you’re supporting a good cause and I agree with your points so I figure I’d give it a shot. At the very least I guess I can show you that there are these kind of blogs too in Indonesia. Oh yes there are many others like me.
Cheers from Jogja, sir!
what a wonderful blog to link and build network! we can share knowledge, experience, opinion as a global society. thanks for this blog

Hi,
I was just starting to write a blog in English. I’d be delighted if you could come and visit, perhaps giving some pointers if you have spare time
(I’m sure you’re a busy person, so no pressure hehe)
This is the link:
rishardana.blogspot.com
The reason I wrote in English might be cliché, perhaps it’s in the same vein as your objective to write yours in English. To show people the different aspects of life in Indonesia. As an alternative view from the mainstream media who often times portray our country in a tinted glass.
Kind Regards,
Heru Rishardana
Berhubung Blogger Indonesia, apa ngga menyalahi aturan kalo pake bahasa Indonesia..?? tank-lah sebelumnya

#hi Dwik, I only review an English-speaking blog. Please create an English version of your blog in order to be eligible
Hi,everybody…I started blogging three weeks ago and now have 2 blogs.Thank God, both of them are written in English. The first one (www.akhlispurnomo.blogspot.com) is dedicated to anyone interested in learning English and the second (www.learnkoreanwithme.blogspot.com) is a Korean learning blog. Learning foreign languages is my passion and I think there’s nothing better than doing something with our flamming passions. It’s definitely fun to make money by doing things we’re passionate about, isn’t it?
I do want to customize my blog’s look, theme, layout, add some widgets, but so far I’ve made very little progress. But that’s fine as I don’t want to rush. We can’t rush success, so i decide to enjoy the ‘trip’ to be a pro blogger…just like the man writing this superb blog.
In terms of language, I have relatively nothing to worry about, literally. But I find technical stuffs (like editing templates using some lines of codes or widgets or whatever you may call it) so complicated.. I feel like I was a moron
I spotted some commentators above objecting to the requirements you propose, particularly about the 1st one. Do you think a blogger writing in English has less nationalism than those writing in Indonesian? As sometimes I feel guilty not to blog using my native tongue…But as a matter of fact, I have my own reason. Like you said before, blogging in English enables us to get our ideas across better, and I strongly believe in that.
Let me say that this blog is like blogging bible to me. I can find almost anything I need here…so lucky to know this blog!
#you’ve got a blog with quality content. thanks to let me know
Thank you so much, mas Fatih.I’m truly flaterred, indeed. It’s been 2 months and a half since the first time I wrote my maiden post on my blog. But as time goes by, I have solved my previously mentioned technical problems, thanks to your elaborate post on how to add widgets and java scripts. I’d never thought that’s a piece of cake, really!
And like I said, all I want to do is enjoying this trip. It’s not about the destination but more about the travel, the journey. The road is steep but attractively challenging. Blogging is one of my reasons to stay alive. Hahaha…
I’m a new blogger, Beginning on september, 14 2009. I’m still learning in a broad sense, especially ethics blogger. You gave me many lessons through your blog. I’m still green in the world of bloggers. Thanks

Mas Fatih, I’m a newbie blogger. Love your blog for a lot of things to learn there.
I’ve written my blog in English because I want to reach to more people. The blog address is: http://careermomshare.wordpress.com
The content of the blog would be around career development, work and life management as a working mom. I wonder if my blog would meet your criteria to be reviewed, as the subject is about career and it is the type that wou would exclude from the review. Anyway, it would be an honour if you could just drop by and check out my blog, eventhough you were not going to review it for a while.
In the meantime, I would like to link to your blog. But I may need sometime to learn on how to do that… Hehehe…
Thanks,
A Newbie Mom
